We should have a way for users to verify their accounts on gmodstore. This would ensure they own gmod. This would cut back on scamming.
Additional Information
Here is how I envision it could work:
Accounts have a flag (could even be a badge to gamify it for those people who love badges).
To get verified, a user would click a button on their profile that would prompt the backend to query steam to see if they own garrysmod.
For private accounts, the system would detect that it couldn't get the info and inform the user they need to set their account to public. It would also warn them that the process could take 24-48 hours for the cache to clear.
Moderators could also verify accounts manually (maybe a button under clear 2FA).
Users who are not verified would not be able to apply for jobs or create addon submissions.
An additional idea I had involving this would be to have a new field in job submissions where the submitting user can enter their discord or steam tag for potential applicants to contact them. This field would be hidden for non-verified users.
