I've created an Amazon Linux instance and have a key pair for it. You will need the key to connect to the instance. The free version has only 1GiB of RAM. I was not sure if we can select other versions with 4 GiB etc. In general it's probably good for everyone to try creating an instance, connecting to it and then terminating.
