Started seeing this error since yesterday. I am a premium user and have verified everything is right. It was all working fine until a few days back.

DaSHDoom commented 2 years ago

Having the same, issue, all details are correct but it comes up with the error.

SirBryce commented 2 years ago

Having same problem. Have reverified everything and even started from scratch. Can't seem to resolve problem.

lukethacoder commented 2 years ago

Looks like libspotify has been decommissioned (source).

Should be able to rebuild with the Web Playback SDK, but that isn't a simple task (without knowing much about C# development this repo is built with).

StephenTheMoldovan commented 2 years ago

are there any forks or projects that have already implemented the new libraries after libspotify got discontinued? are there any plans for this project to be rewritten to work with the new libraries?

StephenTheMoldovan commented 2 years ago

@eviabs this is a very important issue.

lukethacoder commented 2 years ago

Stumbled across spy-spotify. It isn't as good as this tool (except that it works), but it uses the Web Playback SDK.

You will need to silence all other things going on your PC and you will need to actually listen through the tracks you wish to download. It records your system audio and uses some smarts under the hood to chop up the recorded mp3s into each track (as well as add the proper metadata - I'd recommend connecting your Spotify account for metadata, last.fm is a tad patchy)

Daitan9 commented 2 years ago

Still happening now, hope it can be fixed or workarounded soon !

leetfin commented 2 years ago

@Daitan9 This would require a complete rewrite of the app to fix. I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

matsiroll commented 2 years ago

I literally just discovered this app. oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯

peter812 commented 1 year ago

still getting the same issue

leetfin commented 1 year ago

@peter812 This is no longer supported by Spotify. No signs of a fix ever coming.
