In progress check-in #8

Hey @katrinskaya ,

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to reach out to see if you're available to stop by on Tuesday (3/1) for an in-progress checkin? At that point we can show the design direction and site structure along with a few working visualizations. If you're free, we'd love for you to stop by our office on Tuesday.

Because we're still waiting on the carbon datasets, we're currently blocked on our work to proceed in testing, getting feedback, iterating, and developing the last visualization. In order to implement and merge the visualization into the site well, we feel that it would be best to push the last delivery date out until Wednesday the 9th.

Let us know if you have further questions. We're looking forward to your visit soon.

Hi @katrinskaya,

We've made quite a bit of progress on the the site and we're excited to show you some screen shots of the work in progress along with an animated gif of the interactive visualization.

Site Header

We've styled the site according to the fonts and colors that were included in the styleguides.

Access chart

The access chart is fully implemented and powered with real data. The stacked area chart shows the total number of people served, while the growth of the installed dispensers is shown on the map. The play button triggers both of these interactive pieces and the slider allows the user to further explore the data.

Other charts and API

We have made good progress on the API and both the reliability and usage charts are technically implemented. There are a couple of blockers that prevent us from populating them with real data, which in turn blocks us from wrapping these sections up.

Next steps

At this point we are completely blocked and can't make any real progress until we receive feedback on the following issues:

It would also be great if you could start thinking about copy and how you would like to explain the methodology. We'd recommend ~60 words per KPI section and 2-3 sentences for the introduction in the header. For now, we have substituted those sections with dummy text.

If you have additional questions about what we've sent, we are happy to jump on the phone to talk through any of the information above.

Thanks for hopping on the phone with us @katrinskaya . Here's a quick recap of the meeting:

Notes:

Let us know if I missed anything here, otherwise we'll talk to you soon.
