maybe add a note about this to the README? (speaking of README suggestions, currently the word "both" is followed by a list of more than 2 things.)

This is explicitly, in the description, "Helper routines for Inkscape extensions." Accordingly, it uses parts of the Inkscape extension framework, including (but not limited to) cspsubdiv.
