Thank you for this wonderful piece. I noticed a few things that needed to be corrected and I pointed them out in this PR

Thanks, but "reference" is a noun referring to a kind of documentation, not a countable instance of a reference; it would not be correct to speak of "a reference" or "references" in this context.
