What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download the latest version r208
2. configure with --enable-frame-pointers
3. make check fails with 9 out 44 test failures.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect that the test will pass.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

uname -a:
Linux 3.5.0-17-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 9 19:31:23 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hi, how are you configuring your environment? Are you using 32 bits or 64 bits
testing? Which tests has failed? If you attach a debugger, what is the
backtrace and machine state (register, etc.) when the SEGFAULT occur?

I just tested 32 and 64 bits make/make check on a Ubuntu 12.10
(3.5.0-25-generic, gcc version 4.7.2) and all 44 tests ran fine.

Works for me too. Just specifically for this installed ubuntu 12.10 and
followed instructions above.

We will need more details on failures in order to do anything here. But lets
hope it's broken hardware or some broken update of, say, compiler.
