Hi Wonbat, just wanted to thank you for all the work on the GoPro hero4 recovery. It VERY nearly worked for me.

I got as far as all the files copied over and the camera told me to re-boot. I disconnected from USB and inserted the battery, waited 10 seconds, powered up ..... the Hero logo appeared on the screen then everything went blank and nothing else happened .....

To be fair - the camera was starting up OK before but freezing after a few seconds .... I had assumed that this was a firmware problem as it had never been updated from new. I had tried the 'normal' update from the SD card but it still 'froze' before the update could get going (I got the 'busy' notification then freeze).

I was hoping that forcing the update via my windows PC would do the job BUT I now think that something else is happening - probably hardware related and even with your excellent utility the freezing goes on.

I think I now own a Hero 4 brick and there is nowhere else to go with this. I have contacted a number of specialist camera repair people but no one seems interested and I guess it's just uneconomical. BUT everything worked (in software) exactly as you described and it was great to see the camera responding.

I'm really grateful to you for creating and sharing that resource, it did allow me one more go at fixing the camera and gave me confidence that I've tried all I can. Thank you - very much appreciated.

Bob
