Feature Request

Collect even more papers that have additional benchmarks. For example, Table II in SABRE https://arxiv.org/pdf/1809.02573.pdf Check that this contains circuits we haven't included yet.

Duplicate of #10 Finish creating an interface for the rest of the submodules listed in the README. Then combine all submodules for a master list and remove duplicates.

Summary

We aim to refine the Library class for managing quantum circuit definitions from various open-source projects. The focus is to enhance the filtering capabilities and improve the performance by avoiding unnecessary circuit conversions.

Tasks

• Redefine filtering capabilities in circuit interfaces:

  • [ ] Build a method in QASMInterface to read the number of qubits from a QASM file without full conversion to Qiskit. This will help in improving the performance.
  • [x] Make the filter_list more intuitive and enhance its documentation for better understanding.
  • [ ] Look into other useful filtering options like circuit depth, gate count etc.

• Revamp SubmoduleInterface and QASMBench classes:

  • [x] Modify these classes to work as iterators by implementing __iter__ and __next__ methods. This will help in efficiently loading QASM files one at a time during iteration.
  • [x] Refactor the _get_qasm_files method to directly apply the filters, thus simplifying the logic.

• Upgrade the Library class:

  • [x] Ensure Library class can automatically find and load all available interfaces.
  • [x] Handle cases where interfaces require different parameters.

• Streamline handling of circuit sizes:

  • [x] Create a system to make circuit sizes consistent across different interfaces. This could involve resizing circuits that have predefined circuit widths.
