Pencil makes RHEL 8.5 hang #717

Operating system: RHEL 8.5
Pencil version: 3.1.0 RPM 64bit, also when run from source (development branch)

As soon as Pencil begins to launch the mouse begins to stutter and a few seconds later the whole OS hangs (even the ALT-PRTSCREEN-REISUB doesn't work).

Tried using the supplied RPM and also by checking out and building/running the development branch from this project. Same result.
