Option/Feature to reveal recent document in the site tree #1137

Open q2apro opened 5 years ago

I open a resource using a link, e.g.

/manager/#?a=27&id=1234&r=1&stay=2&dir=DESC&sort=createdon&page=0

The document tree however is showing the default view. But I need to have the tree open at the position of the document. To easily access it and understand where it is.

How to achieve this?

Could we either:

A: Have a "locate" button when editing a document so it shows the document in the site tree?

B: When opening the document it should automatically show it in the site tree by default (sounds like better usability).

Background:

I am using links from frontend to jump to the document in edit mode. The site tree does not reflect this. It's in "collapsed" view, not showing the recent document.

Agree with B. Having the site tree reflect what is being edited would be useful. I suggested something similar a while ago: https://github.com/evolution-cms/evolution/issues/163

A or B or both, it would be a really nice UX feature.

Can someone assign a label "feature request" to this issue? It would be very helpful to have it. :)
