There are user reports of Evothings Workbench not launching on Windows 8.
The application starts, a window open and closes instantly and the application stops. When running from the command line no error messages are shown.
Recent download of nw.js exhibits the same behaviour, which indicates that this is a problem in nw.js.

Note that this problem does not happen on all Windows 8 installations, there seems to be some specific condition causing it.
