regex tagrules are ignored

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Define a tagrule "emacs -> /./" or similar in wmiirc (or wmiirc.py)
2. Open emacs
3.

What is the expected result? What do you see instead?
I expect it to be sticky (tagged /./), but it is only tagged for the
current view.

What version of the product are you using (wmii -v)? On what operating
system?
wmii hg2594, libixp hg116

Please provide any additional information below.
This happens regardless of python or sh wmiirc. I remember that I read
about this issue somewhere, but could not find it. Please excuse if this is
a double post.

I think you mean,

  /emacs/ -> /./
