for completeness I'm attaching the vignette building log that I received from CRAN: build_vignettes.log
(It's not entirely easy to reproduce this locally, one basically needs a custom R build as described here https://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/bdr/memtests/README.txt -- mirroring that piece of grayweb as well :sweat_smile: README.txt )
