Remove CoffeeScript artifacts from codebase

• [x] remove class magic (outer block): bpTap, bpView,
• [x] untangle ternaries
• [x] use angular helpers (angular.isDefined() angular.isFunction, etc.)
• [ ] more?!

It's file based because I'm only handling the navbar on my branch.
