Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this issue. I'm on SDK 8.0.304 though. Maybe this is a regression in the SDK?

Hm, it seems like I've been able to add this just fine on another PC (this pc doesn't have webCompiler installed globally).

But dotnet --info is similar here.
