Sorry if I commit any mistake I'm still learning english. When I search for subtitles sometimes the result is " ??? [?] (? CD) " and I have to be clicking in the buttons until the search works.

I have the same problem. kind-of. At first I had this problem and than, within minutes (while writing this post) it just disappeared! The good part is that i managed to record the log before it worked and after, so hopefully that should help any developer here that's working on this issue. I'm running vlc 2.2.4 on Windows 10 PC. here is the log when vlsub did not work: https://pastebin.com/CdrnWaBa here is an extention of the previouse log, after vlsub worked: https://pastebin.com/qCU8bYkr

FYI -

  1. Tried again to search for subtitles with vlsub and the problem appeared again.
  2. Noticed that when i keep clicking the search by hash/name button, it eventually finds the sub (as @Esteves4 described). Here is a new log of this phenomena: https://pastebin.com/phf9Lv2K .

Yea, for some reasons, this problem shows and disappears. Try to remake this problem by switching by Searching by Hash and by name. That's where you'll see the problem. I've had the latest version of VLC on Windows, and since the latest version doesn't ship the latest update of VLSub, I updated it manually. So maybe that's where the problem exist. It's on the VLC.

Please up this to be noticied by the developer, and also marked as priority
