I wonder if this allows for changing https://github.com/executablebooks/myst-vs-code/blob/c8c96542171ebe6ccdd896cf8337a5ffffeb73d4/package.json#L114-L116, which seems a bit hacky

I'd like to think so, although I can't see any indication from VSCode that we could do that :frowning:
