AKA Renaud. Need to locate a new copy that is complete

Smiling Spectre and myself suspect this game is a hack job, heres the conversation:

Python — Today at 23:04 Spectre, another game for your thoughts re graphics modes. Sidewalk (1987) starts with a graphics choice menu that includes CGA, EGA, Amstrad, and Herc. Issue is that despite the choice EGA and CGA both give CGA graphics. The game files only contain .cga files so im wondering if we are missing something

Smiling Spectre — Today at 23:31 It looks suspiciously hacked, as for me. In the first menu it's always passed MENUGRA.EXE for every mode, except Hercules. This one evoke MENUHER.EXE. So, I suppose, someone simply cut out all modes, hardwiring CGA in.

Python — Today at 23:36 That was my feeling as well. Any luck with other versions?

Smiling Spectre — Today at 23:40 Nope. Also, I am almost sure it came from Argentina's "TOSEC Collection". It's the only one collection I know where CGA and Hercules was prominent.

Does this game even work properly as it is now? I cant seem to get it to do anything once gameplay starts

I am unable to get the character to move once I am in the game.

the middle screen seems suspicious as well, as though it didn't finish drawing it

F1 kills the sound

fire (spacebar) and up arrow at the same time seem to "begin" the game. however it crashes shortly after.

abnormal program termination

menugra_000 it is a bad hack. I got the game to allow me to walk around. however the black square follows me everywhere, and obscures most of the game. I was able to meet a fellow and talk to him, but if I leave the immediate vicinity, it always crashes.

In checking the crash in the debugger, it is due to the video mode.
