The FMTowns sound FX and Speech option for the game has issues with stable 2.5 ScummVM build, and will only work using the 2.3_18903 svn build

Still needs 2.3 svn as it doesnt work on anything up to svn2.8 when the FMtowns sounds are active

As of stable 2.8 this issue is resolved
