Bluetooth Support #64

Any plans on integrating the bluetooth models?

ianbrack commented 1 year ago

I also have the Kwikset Aura (Bluetooth only) and would love to see support for this model

explosivo22 commented 1 year ago

I would try looking into this, but I don't have a Bluetooth model. I will see what I can dig up in the mean time.

This is actually very interesting. The Halo touch lock I have uses the Cloud-Control, but the app can also connect directly to the lock via bluetooth (both for setup, and for local control when WiFi is out). The HA crowd loves local control, so while this work is very cool (thanks a ton!), a BT version might be an even better solution for HA.

Adding another vote for BT support. My Kwikset lock is practically the only smart device I have that is BT-only access and would love to use HA for it.

Unfortunately supporting a BLE integration probably won't happen, it's an architectural issue of the lock firmware.

Can you elaborate? Any phone can talk BLE to it with the app installed. It must be possible to spoof the app... unless it is just a "need private key to proceed" issue.
