selecting fancy causes error #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open the demo
2. select fancy 
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Don't know never used it

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
the latest svn

Please provide any additional information below.
OpenSUSE 12.1, python 2.7, wxpython 2.8.11.0
willing to work to fix it.
