Though I think it originally worked, the current version of elFinder (our interface) doesn't update the expFile db entry with image sizes (and maybe more) when you resize an image within elFinder, esp. if you save as the resized image.
Additionally it may allow for non-normalized filenames. We may need to implement the 'normalize' plugin for that so we don't end up with filenames with spaces in them as they tend to cause havoc in some instances.
