Files in File Manager #1566

Open Archbold-lbrader opened 10 months ago

Archbold-lbrader commented 10 months ago

The ability to drag a file from Mac finder to copy or replace files in any folder in Exponent File Manager is not available any longer. Please fix this so you don't need to upload files while editing an object! I keep the names of image files the same from year to year and just replace that file in File Manager to display the current year's sporting teams.

What version of Exponent are you running? What version of MacOS are you running? What browser are you using (Safari, Chrome, etc...)

Version 2.7.1 Doesn’t work on Mac OS 10.15 and up Doesn’t work on any browser – Safari, Firefox or Chrome

I tested it today (drag from Finder onto elFinder window) with MacOS 13.5 and Safari without issue using my main site running on an Apache/Linux shared server.

Can you confirm you can NOT upload a NEW file? Also is your scenario only true for adding a duplicate file (e.g., there's a filename conflict)? In that case you should see a 'file already exists) dialog popup with options (Yes, No, Backup, Rename, or Cancel)

Also, is this in the root of the server folder (files) or in a subfolder? You might try creating a new test subfolder and testing inside of that new folder.

I cannot upload or drag a new file into the eFinder window using an older macOS 10.15 and Safari, FireFox or Chrome. It does not matter if it’s a duplicate file or a new file. The only way I can upload a file is by using the Upload button while editing an object. Then it places the upload in the base Files folder. Because I have my files organized I then have to go into eFinder and move the file to the correct folder, then go back to the object and change the link. Exhausting! Ha!

Are you saying that I simply must update my OS?

I am revisiting this message from a few months ago – sorry for the delay! I just tried uploading both a duplicate file and a new file using Safari, Chrome and FireFox with MacOS 12.7.1 and am still having the problem uploading. This window just sits forever and the upload never happens:
