There are many reasons why we decided to do it, including maintenance overhead & maintainers burnout; but ultimately we did it because we could not properly support all of the nuances of Open Shift with a community based helm operator we had poor visibility on.
It was quite frequent for us to break users because we changed helm values and OLM didn't like it for a reason or not.
As such, 0.11.0 is the last release available for OLM until further notice. Depending on the way this goes, we might still have OLM support (ideally with a properly built operator for that), but this is a promise we cannot make if and when this is going to happen.
Sorry for the any trouble caused, and thanks for the time reading this message :bow:
Hey all. As part of today's community meeting, we have voted for deprecating OLM builds from external-secrets https://github.com/external-secrets/external-secrets/pull/4175
