Setting Up Network Manager for Awesome Window Manager #2

I realize that this forum is intended for reporting bugs about awesome-network-manager, which I have not used. However, I'm hoping you won't mind me sharing some experience and asking a question.

I installed Awesome onto Debian 11 without any other desktop environments, and getting Network Manager to work correctly has been quite a challenge for me, due to the fact that in the past, desktop environments have always spoon feed me a working Network Manager. So, I do see the purpose of your project and I think it is a very important one.

One thing I learned, is this: you have to remove any mention of your Ethernet ports from the file /etc/network/interfaces before Network Manager will even list your Ethernet ports. Also, if you don't do this, any VPNs you configure with Network Manager won't work, because Network Manager will only allow you to VPN on top of connections it has facilitated.

I've had a heck of a time figuring out what I've mentioned above. Yet, there's one thing I still don't understand. Now that I have both of my Ethernet ports showing up in the nm-applet, that I've gotten into the tray of AwesomeWM, I don't understand why one of them will only connect at 100mb Half Duplex, while the other one connects at 1000mb Full Duplex. You'd think that the same driver would work the same way for two ports on the same motherboard.

Since you must have a lot more experience with this than me. I'd certainly appreciate any advise (or resources you can refer me to) to address this problem: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/684504/
