Thanks for opening this issue. I am looking into this. In the mean time, people have had success with running vscode v1.82 or earlier
Thanks! I forgot to mention that my VS Code was on v.1.83. I can confirm the extension works in v1.82.
Just released 3.15. that should fix this. Please confirm

resolved. thank you! by the way, this provided key information that hopefully led to fixing some other big issues.
I am not sure whether this was due to a windows patch but more or less match with the time that I started to see issues.
These are some logs that I am seeing:
