Please lower 250 character requirement for Details. #77

Hi

In the instructions it says: "Share as many or as few details as you feel comfortable sharing." But when I shared just a sentence (as I don't feel comfortable sharing basically any details more than the fact of the violence itself), the form required me to write at least 250 characters. Which is a lot more than I'm comfortable sharing about the events publicly but at the same time I want people to find the perpetrator in this database.

(don't know how to tag it as an enhancement)

That is a good point. I originally added a length limit in order to discourage griefers, but I've never been convinced that this tactic works to do so. On the other hand, you make a compelling argument about the human-language instructions being at odds with the computer-language checks.

Given the balance here (maybe slowing down griefers versus more closely aligning to survivor needs, as described), I'm going to weigh this in favor of survivor needs, so I'm strongly inclined to remove (or substantially lower) the minimum length requirement. @unquietpirate, what do you think?

I say remove the minimum length requirement entirely, or reduce it to "non-empty," i.e., 1 character minimum.
