Fiji has been updated to the latest version. when I drag and drop the file into the toolbar, it tells me "The folder does not appear to contain any TIFF, JPEG, BMP, DICOM, GIF, FITS, or PGM files." I don't know how to install this plugin correctly.

Did you try to unzip the file before drag-and-drop ? Once done, try what is explained on the “release” page: https://github.com/fabricecordelieres/IJ-Toolset_SynaptosomesMacro/releases/tag/v1.0
