You guys have used a lot of article tags in the HTML, almost as a proxy for 'blocks' in the layout.
I would say using an article tag for a team member photo or logo block is semantically confusing to a screen reader / the web. It might be appropriate as a wrapper for a photo and bio of a team member though?
There's nothing wrong with using a div, and I would say this is much preferable to article for a photo/image block.
Here is what the W3 specification says about use of the article tag:
The article element represents a component of a page that consists of a self-contained composition in a document, page, application, or site and that is intended to be independently distributable or reusable, e.g. in syndication. This could be a forum post, a magazine or newspaper article, a blog entry, a user-submitted comment, an interactive widget or gadget, or any other independent item of content.
We had a lot of discussions and differing undertandings in our group of semantic HTML tags so this is definitely something we're going to look into more in depth now. Thanks for raising!
