To add to this, a CC-BY license for code is an unusual choice for a software license and is generally recommended against by creative commons.
While the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license is GPLv3 compatible, that is not true for CC-BY-NC-SA.
Maybe a new FacebookResearch policy? Same license used here

We appreciate your patience on this! We updated the licensing for the project and have accordingly updated the README - "This project is released under the MIT license except ImageNet pre-trained and fine-tuned models which are licensed under a CC-BY-NC"

The first ConvNext has an MIT license. Might ConvNext V2 be open sourced in the future? It's sad to see licensing changes between V1 and V2.
