Since the issue seems to be at a halt, is there any effort that could be done on a snapshot of the modpack, just so that we could benefit from having it in factoriolab? So-called self inflicted sabotage, referencing to the thread above?

I think the only thing that could be done would be to locally modify the exotic industries mod files to remove the breaking characters from ids and then build data from that local copy. I don't know the level of effort required to do that, but it would also require either keeping that fork of the mod up to date or never updating the mod data after it's built. Since the mod author wasn't willing to look into changing the ids, I'm not confident I have time to do it either, but I might at least take a look at it.

It's not a stable modpack, yet, either. 4 months since latest update, but there are endgame work in progress, if I understood preleyzero correctly. Still quite used to opening factoriolab for planning next session, though, could also see if it is a way to semi-automate the renaming.
