Hi,

so after I enabled the source repos I could successfully build the *.deb files. However, what installing them what should be the next step? Installing the debian files has no effect on my computer.

Hi Karsten,

Sorry for the delay.

One step is to check whether you are using the libinput driver rather than the synaptics driver (I'm assuming you are on Ubuntu 16.04?). The logs under /var/log/Xorg.0.log should provide this information.

Which laptop model is it?

thanks for answering. I think I've got something to work. However, from what I understood from my googling around is that middle mouse button scrolling is simply not supported by the driver. Can you confirm that?

model: thinkpad t440p ubuntu: 16.04

Keeping the upper center of the touchpad pressed (where a real middle button is on other Lenovo models) and moving the touchpoint allows you to scroll. This works with libinput on 16.04 and the Lenovo models mentioned in the README, after patching libinput using this script. Is that what you meant? I'm not sure if the patched libinput driver works on the t440p.
