postloader.dol #2

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
readmii tells extensively about a postloader.dol but there is no such file
anymore in postloader.zip. So it is confusing.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In my case, I wanted to make priiloader on (uneek) emulated nand launch
postloader.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
postloader.3.48.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Kudo for postloader ! Great wiiware !

You are right. postloader.dol is no more available. I will correct readmii soon

Under neek you can just select "Install neekbooter.dol in priiloader" in
postloader's options menu.

Thank you

Under neek, I tried to "Install neekbooter.dol in priiloader" in postloader's
options menu. I was warned that priiloader isn't installed in emulated nand.
neek2o was installed with modmii 8.2. And modmii produced a priiloader 0.7 app
which may only be used on real nand. Can you advise me how to install
priiloader in neek nand ? Do I need to find a priiloader wad and install this
wad in neek nand ?

priiloader is installed in neek becaue when I press reset and keep reset
pressed under neek2o it opens priiloader and the system hacks selected inside
are not the same as on the real nand.

I believed priiloader was not installed into neek2o because :
-first : when neek2o is started (from real nand system menu) and reset is
pressed, it dosen't open priiloader screen but a video display options screen
-second : when I tried to "Install neekbooter.dol in priiloader" in
postloader's options menu, it is said "Something gone wrong. Is priiloader
installed in nand ?"

So where am I wrong ?

modmii 4.8.x should install priiloader 0.7. AFAIK it run without problem. But
you should be sure to have replayed "yes" when modmii asked you to install it.
The message "Something gone wrong. Is priiloader installed in nand ?" appears
if loader.ini isn't found in /title/00000001/00000002/data/. This file is
created by priiloader and if priiloader is installed also loader.ini is present.

I remember well having replied yes when modmii asked me to install priiloader
on neek.
Now, I checked and well I have a loader.ini
\nands\pl_eu\title\00000001\00000002\data
Perhaps Postloader hasn't searched in \nands\pl_eu\title\00000001\00000002\data
but in \nands\pl_us\title\00000001\00000002\data or in
\nands\nand1\title\00000001\00000002\data ?

And as said in comment #3, I succeeded to manually configure priiloader in neek
with pressing reset and keeping reset pressed at restart. I figured to
installed neekbooter.dol and autoboot on installed file.

postloader search ISFS path /title/00000001/00000002/data/, so not matter where
is really located the nand. I've tried again and I have no problem using auto
installation.

In any case also manually is a good way. Can I close this issue ?

Thanks, yes you can close this issue.
But don't forget to update readmii, issue was first open for references to non
existent postloader.dol in readmii. Could be an issue for other people. ;-)
