There are a bit a problems with root folders in windows env. You have to be
sure that the folder can be readable.
As workaround, add a subdirectory instead of drive root.

The transcoding of full hd videos is a heavy task. These problem happens when
your pc has not power to decode the full hd stream and reencode it. You have to
try changing transcoding profile with a lighter one or create new transcoding
profiles that fits better with your pc. For these kind of task, start reading
vlc manual/wiki is a good starting point.

The problem was related to HideHidden plugin. Please, check the fix replacing
your HideHidden plugin file
(/vlc-shares/library/X/VlcShares/Plugins/HideHidden.php) with the one in the
last svn revision
(http://vlc-shares.googlecode.com/svn-history/r309/trunk/library/X/VlcShares/Plu
gins/HideHidden.php).
As workaround windows users of version up to 0.5.2: disable HideHidden plugin
from the configs page to use root drives folder
