Map selection status bar inconsistency #156

When manually selecting observations on a map, e.g., by using a rectangular 
selection tool, the # selected is shown on the status bar of the map. However, 
when creating a selection using the selection tool in the Table, this is not 
the case - even though the selection is shown on the map. This should be made 
consistent.
