in arch distro, ly install the executable binary 'ly' is conflict with pyhon-ly. they both use the executable binary name 'ly'. who is the first to use the name?

ninelore commented 3 years ago

python-ly was first submitted to AUR on 2015-03-10.

ly-git was first submitted to AUR on 2017-05-24 and
ly was first submitted to AUR on 2018-09-23.

This should hopefully answer your question

This has nothing to do with the AUR or Arch Linux. This is simply an unfortunate choice of name which conflicted with an existing project that is now over 14 years old (that project started some time in 2008).

@nullgemm I would strongly suggest renaming the binary (to e.g. something like lydm) so that it doesn't conflict with the well-established project.
