emulation_mode -- officially supported? #113

Not a defect in code per se, but was wondering if the "emulation_mode" is 
officially supported by the developers and if so, any chance of a quick 
paragraph in the Wiki describing what its purpose is? I am about to start using 
it to facilitate dto mocking (I can't mock the gwt_overlay classes without 
emulation_mode because they are marked as final).
