Fongo v2.2.0-RC2 incompatibility with mongodb driver v3.9.1

I need to upgrade mongodb driver to v3.9.1 for my Spring boot application. Fongo v2.2.0-RC2 is compatible with mongodb driver 3.6.2, but we need to use v3.9.1.

I've tried using mongo java server, but it doesn't support some of the functionalities we test. I also cannot use embedmongo-spring, as it downloads a particular version of Mongo at runtime and we cannot do that due to company proxy. Is there any other in memory MongoDB we can use for testing purposes with mongodb driver to v3.9.1?
