sorry for late reply.
this is likely the bitwig auto-save feature. does this spike happen when carla has no plugins? I guess there is something non-realtime-safe that carla might be triggering during save, or a plugin that carla is using.
Hi,
I don´t know exactly what I did, but the spikes are gone. I think the crucial point was to set the plugin-hosting mode in Bitwig to "Within Bitwig".

I'm getting DSP spikes when adding one instance of Carla Rack or Carla Rack FX into a new Bitwig project as can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/6fw90Vj.png The distance of the peaks is constant. Sometimes they dissapear completely or they don't appear when adding Carla, but I made sure that it's Carla. When they are present and I put Carla to sleep the peaks go and come back when Carla is awake.
System Debian 10 with KX repos.
Used Carla version: 5:2.1+git20200613
