Carla as a vst3 plugin #1293

Carla is available as an LV2 and VST2 plugin, but not as a VST3 plugin (for Linux), are there any plans for carla patchbay and rack to be released as a vst3 plugins in near future?

[Not an issue with Carla, didn't know where else to post]

Any special reason why?

What I investigated on VST3 APIs so far have left me feeling sick, I hope I do not have to deal with it directly. but relegating that to JUCE is a little bit problematic, there is already 1 open ticket about it

There is no special reason actually, just to be future proof as VST2 is being very slowly obsoleted. You can close this thread or merge if an issue already open.

I would love to see this implemented - my use case is with Musescore 4, which will finally have VST3 support, but not VST2 due to licensing issues with Steinberg.

I'd like to second the above. Being able to host Carla in Musescore 4 would be a definite boon. I would understand if licence compatibility was a blocker. However, see #1930 for why this is actually problematic.
