2 years ago The window for the plugin sometimes flashes in front of Carla on top of carla and then appears behind I've noticed when using Carla as a plugin in Tracktion Waveform. Just another observation.

I am using your excellent program Carla on Waveform 12 on Ubuntu 22.10 but am having some problems. Carla works fine in standalone but when running as a plugin in Tracktion Waveform 12 if any of carlas settings buttons are clicked the windows open in the background rather than in the foreground on top of the app.
The same is true for opening a plugins GUI - they will open in the background. Sometimes the plugin GUI will flash as if its about to display in the foreground but revert to the background. I tried looking for a solution first but couldnt find one but there is another user on a video posting a similar bug:-----

Edrick Blade Edrick Blade 2 years ago Thanks for that video, how Carla Rack works well? I have the problem that all vst plugins open settings at the background and I always need to set them to deselect the always on top option each time I load every vst instrument in Waveform 11 linux.

I've tested Carla in Reaper and it works fine there - I can't reproduce this bug in Reaper although Reaper uses the LV2 version and I think Waveform is using the VST version of Carla.
Also if I use Carla standalone it works fine as well.
