Carla crashes on Mac using v2.5.7 #1844

I've tried adding plugins but Carla crashes every time. I've tried installing older versions and I get the same result. I'm on a Mac Mini running Big Sur 11.7.4. Any help is appreciated.

here works Ok, what Mini? 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2022 ?

probably has to do with CoreAudio drivers, what Audio interface? what driver version.
