Can not get SF2 to work #382

I have built from latest in git and when I add (drag and drop) an SF2 file onto the rack all previous plugins disconnects from Jack and I have to restart Carla. The SF2 plugin shows up in the rack and can be edited, but there are no signs of it it then patchbay or in the qjackctkl application which I run in parallel.

Any hints on what the problem might be?

my guess would be that fluidsynth is misbehaving or crashing.

is updating fluidsynth an option?

I am a bit surprised that fluidsynth would be the problem. I can try to update. Any particular version of fluidsynth to use or to not use?

I've used 1.1.6 for a long time without issues.

Also, note that fluidsynth loads the entire sf2 file on RAM. So if you're trying to load a very big file you might get into issues.
