Bolger & Laurenceau (2013; Ch. 9) also provide an example mediation analysis model with intensive longitudinal data. Depending on the centering strategy (all are within-person centered), it may be desirable to omit the intercepts and random effects for the intercepts (since these will be zero, and to avoid estimation problems). The need would also then arise to see whether anything special needs to happen with bootstrapping.
