Post entry antivirals #22

Hittable post-entry antivirals include e.g. ciclesonide, mometasone, fluvoxamine, nelfinavir, nitazoxanide (partly), artesunate, pyronaridine (partly), indomethacin, opipramol, doxycycline, remdesivir, GS-441524, daclatasvir-sofosbuvir, favipiravir, molnupiravir. Not exhaustive.

Niclosamide also has post-entry antiviral effects, though it is mainly known for entry inhibition on the endosomal route.

Ivermectin is post-entry but available evidence in vitro indicates its direct antiviral effect is unhittable; clinical success is mostly anti-inflammatory.

Ivermectin prophylactic success may be due to T cell immunomodulatory properties or perhaps due to the weak but still present antiviral effects. Prophylaxis is much easier than treatment in terms of required antiviral potency.

I just bought everything online in advance.

Antivirals work best when used as soon as possible after symptoms appear. Studies still suggest clinical benefits even after several days of symptoms, but sooner is best.

But if someone is really insistent on going through proper channels, ivermectin is one of the easiest ones to get right now. Just Google for telehealth providers prescribing it for COVID-19. Some will prescribe in advance for prophylaxis. Let me see if I can find an example.
