1 year ago the minute calculations could be considered encryption? just note that:
- we can't obtain the fingerprint image back from the template
- the minutae calculations uses a propietary format (no information available) but the template has certain signs of being just an encoding of minutae information.
- they can be transferred from one compatible device to another and be reusable. (just check the fingerprint algorithm version)
Hi all, I am curious about the format of the fingerprint template. Are the templates encrypted or just encoded with a specific format?
If it is just encoded, does anyone know the format?
