Overall: -great work! -progress report given -resources cited -required number of tasks completed -code was clear and easy to read -detailed description of solutions and code in first part of hw set(General data reshaping and relationship to aggregation)

Overall Suggestions: -when printing the tables, if they are super long, maybe just use head() or tail() so the reader doesn't have to scroll through the whole thing -maybe be consistent with the table outputs, some used kable() some didn't

Suggestions on Specific Sections:
General data reshaping and relationship to aggregation: -for activity 2, in your plot, you combined the life expectancy of each country into one plot, didn't provide a scatterplot of the countries against each other which is what the question asked for

Join, merge, look up: -for activity 1: maybe provide a small description of your newly created data frame -the join functions were used but no reflections on process or observations provided

Hi Fariha

• Overall completed minimum required number of tasks (Actually done more!!!)
• Overall the repo is clean and easy to scroll through
• Progress report as well as the links to resources mentioned
• Brief description about the process mentioned thus making it easy to read

Few suggestion

• In activity 1 you could have given few examples using very simple data which can be easily visualized for each function or mention the syntax
• In activity 2 maybe you could have piped everything together in a single variable say actv2_lifeExp_spr without actually creating a separate variable actv2_lifeExp (just a suggestion!!!)
• The graph that you plotted for activity 2, you did not used the data in the spread format but rather just used the filtered data from gapminder (you could have plotted one country against another)
• Activity 3 is done very cleanly and efficiently just the plot maybe could have been something else
• In join and merge exercise everything seems good to me just that maybe small description about each join types might be good. Also instead of showing the whole table you could have just shown the parts which are different (by making some subsets of the entire table)

Overall really good work has been done (I got to know few functions used like unique and distinct)!!!

Hi @farihakhan, here are some comments about your hw04:

• For Activity 2, you did a good job converting a subset of gapminder to wide form using spread. It is best to avoid hard coding column indices (or any indices) when you are referring to them like in “names(actv2_lifeExp_spr)[2:7]”. This makes your code less readable and less robust to changes. If you add or remove a country, you will need to change this line of code too.
• The plot that you produced is using long form data. You should try to think of a plot that is easier using wide form data instead.
• Similar comment for activity 3. Good work using spread to reshape your data!
• Nice work showing the different types of joins. However, you should make sure to explain what each type of join does rather than just showing the result. In addition, perhaps work with a smaller subset of gapminder. You can make the same point more clearly using less data!
