Factor Management

• I appreciated the clear description of your process and how you overcame challenges
• I thought your table describing the two data sets (whole data set, subset that removed observations with Year 0) was very clever and made it easy to see differences.
• Good use of droplevels(), fct_infreq(), and fct_rev()

Arrange and Factor Reorder

• It would have been good to show tables when using arrange() and fct_reorder() to see how the data frame was changed by the functions (even if it did not change the graphs)
• Descriptions of graphs was clear and easy to follow.
• Also, just FYI – if you put brackets around the whole graph function (e.g. from top25_arrange_reorder to hjust = 1)) it will display the graph as well as assign it to the variable thus saving you from having to write the variable name again to display it.

File I/O

• Good piping to create the subset
• Good job on attempting multiple functions to write a file for the subset.
• Good exploration and explanation of how different read functions impacted the data

Visualization Design

• Good attempts at making graphs. There is so description about how you used information from the data visualization lecture to inform how you created your graphs, which is what I thought was the point of this assignment (e.g. used a link to show a trend as people naturally see lines as a trend).

Writing figures to file

• Your code looks good to save different plots. You dd not attempt to see what the difference was between stating the plot and using the default as the assignment asks.

Homework 5 Reflections

• I thought you outlined your challenges and how you overcame them really clearly. I also appreciated an overview of the different topics within the file.
• I also liked how you included links to the resources you used in the assignment.

Overall Organization

• Your README file is well organized and the links make it easy to access each assignment, although it is not possible to know what each assignment is about (which would make finding a specific code chunk a challenge). How you created README file for each assignment with overview of topics can help this, but you might want to edit the link names to just include the packages used to help in the future.

Coding strategy	+	The coding strategy followed along with the requirements of the homework and included a very helpful table of contents.
Presentation: graphs	0	The point of the graphs was pretty clear. Your use of color brewer on the artist hottness made the graphs easy to grasp and understandably, you restricted the use of bins to avoid cluttering. It would be more aesthetically pleasing if the axis titles were changed to names that were more functional. There were also no statements to relate your choices with visualization design theory.
Presentation: tables	+	The tables seem well presented with knitr  kable.
Achievement, mastery, cleverness, creativity	+	The homework shows complete mastery of the concepts in the class and adds a few new functions from independent learning like sapply and fct_infreq. This will be useful for my future work.

Hi @farihakhan, here are some comments about your hw05:

• Nice work for the first part of the assignment! Great comparison of forcats and base for converting variables to factors! You were also able to successfully drop 0 as a factor. Good use of tables for comparisons
• Factor reordering was also well done, although it would be good to show readers a table of the variable that you are reordering by like artist hotness. However, in this case, it seems to work as intended since the top artists are ones that are pretty well known
• Good work on showing the effects of arrange and factor reordering on plots. This part was very well done!
• File I/O was well done. Good insights on the differences between the different input and output methods
• Visualization design was well done too. You incorporated new elements such as themes, color palettes into your plots
