I remember when Speedlink released the USB Competition Pro in the early 00s they included a CD from Magnussoft with 99 Best of C64 Classix or 99 Best of Amiga Classix. And those you could pick up from chain stores accross Europe. So you would think the licenses was in order.
I would assume that they generally licensed the games on the disc, even if some of these look like homebrew titles and others are blatant asset flips from titles like Punch-Out. Just felt odd to me that they would go out of their way to point out that the titles were licensed.
The installation also includes a couple of chiptune arrangements and longplay videos as bonus content.
There are still some copies available in amazon - I managed to purchase from Magnussoft:
Released but I dont have: Amiga Classix 5,
C64 Classix Gold is a collection of Commodore 64 games I've found in a bargain bin.
In the installation folder, there's a subfolder named "Emulator", containing the 1.16 version of VICE for Windows. The games are stored in the "Games" subfolder.
All of these seem to be PAL ROMs, so they're capped at 50Hz.
The publisher (Magnussoft) insists in the manual that all of the games in the collection have been licensed properly.
